AI-Powered Baking Certification

Prove you can
bake.

Not a quiz. Not a multiple-choice form. A real conversation with a real scenario — you, a student baker, a problem to solve. Your certification reflects what you actually know.

The Assessment

Three stages. One honest result.

I
Meet your scenario

You're given a baker in a specific situation — a struggling loaf, a fermentation problem, a confused student. The scenario is detailed: their equipment, their process, what went wrong.

II
Have the conversation

You talk to them. Ask questions, diagnose the issue, explain what to try and why. The AI plays the baker — responding in character, following up, pushing back where it's realistic.

III
Receive your assessment

Your responses are scored across nine criteria by a rubric developed with working professionals. You see where you're strong and where there's room to grow — not just pass or fail.

Nine criteria. Scored 1 to 4.

Behavioral rubric — not guesswork
Ingredient Knowledge
Flour types, yeast behavior, salt function, hydration ratios
Dough Development
Mixing sequence, gluten formation, windowpane awareness
Fermentation Science
Bulk ferment timing, temperature, starter activity
Proofing Judgment
Under vs. over — evidence-based, not time-based
Shaping Technique
Surface tension, structure, scoring intent
Baking Environment
Oven temp, steam, crust development, Maillard reaction
Problem Diagnosis
Reads symptoms, traces to root cause, not surface fixes
Adaptive Reasoning
Works with constraints — altitude, equipment, ingredients
Teaching Clarity
Explains the why, not just the what
1
Not yet evident
No relevant knowledge demonstrated, or response misses the problem entirely
2
Emerging
Partial understanding; diagnosis is vague or advice is generic rather than evidence-based
3
Proficient
Correct diagnosis grounded in the baker's specific situation; clear, actionable guidance
4
Exemplary
As Proficient, plus surfaces the underlying mechanism so the baker can apply it independently
